Conditions of Entry

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

By entering this venue, you agree to comply with all rules and conditions outlined below. These are in place to protect the health, safety, and enjoyment of all patrons.

For safety and security reasons, all patrons accessing this venue must:

  • Obey all signs around the venue; and
  • Follow all reasonable requests and instructions by venue management and employees.

 

General Conduct

  • Follow all directions of staff and lifeguards at all times.
  • Offensive, abusive, disruptive or antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • Running, rough play, or other dangerous behaviour is strictly prohibited.
  • Anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be refused entry.
  • Aggressive, abusive, offensive, threatening, or intoxicated behaviour will result in refusal of entry or removal from the venue.
  • No animals are allowed except for assistance animals as defined in section 9(2) Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
  • Smoking (including vaping), alcohol, and drug use are prohibited.
  • Walking only – running is not allowed within the venue.
  • Spitting is not permitted.
  • Emergency exits must remain clear at all times.
  • Attempting to enter without paying the admission fee may result in removal from the venue.

 

Pool Use Rules

  • Obey all instructions from the lifeguards.
  • Follow all posted pool rules.
  • No running, bomb diving, flips, sitting or leaning on lane ropes, and unruly or dangerous behaviour.
  • Diving from starting blocks is only allowed under the direct supervision of a qualified swim teacher or coach, or other qualified person authorised by management.
  • Large rubber rings, inflatable pool toys, mermaid fins or similar are not permitted in the pool.

 

Prohibited Items and Substances

  • No glass, drugs, alcohol, and weapons or dangerous items.
  • Bags may be searched on entry.
  • Bubble gum, coloured zinc, balloons, and hard balls of any type are not allowed.

 

Right to Refuse Entry or Removal

Management reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any person for breaching these conditions or compromising the safety or the enjoyment of others.  This includes:

  • Intoxication or drug use
  • Dangerous or unsafe behaviour
  • Attempting to avoid admission charges
  • Failing to follow staff and lifeguard’s directions
  • Offensive, abusive or antisocial behaviour
  • Failing to supervisor minors

 

Risk and Responsibility

  • Only enter the water if you are medically and physically fit and able to swim.
  • All activities are undertaken at your own risk.
  • Lifeguards are present for safety but are not a substitute for parental or personal responsibility. You are responsible for any children you bring into the venue. 
  • You are responsible for your belongings. Management is not liable for lost, stolen or damaged property.

 

Supervision of Children

Parental/Guardian Responsibility
Failure to adequately supervise children may result in removal from the venue. All children under the age of 15 years must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian aged at least 18 years.

  • Ages 0–5 Years: Must be actively supervised in the pool and within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian (at all times. Constant visual contact must be maintained by the parent or guardian.
  • Ages 6–10 Years: Must be actively supervised; parents or guardians should be prepared to enter the pool when needed. Constant visual contact must be maintained by the parent or guardian.
  • Ages 11–14 Years: Constant visual contact must be maintained by the parent or guardian.
  • Unsupervised Children Under 10: May be removed from the pool by lifeguards if considered at risk.
  • Weak /Non-Swimmers: May be removed from the pool by lifeguards if considered at risk.

Note: Lifeguards ensure safety, but do not replace active adult supervision.

Flotation Aids: If used, a supervising adult is strongly encouraged to be in the water.

 

Health and Hygiene

  • Appropriate and recognised swimwear must be worn at all times in the pool. No street clothes or underwear is permitted in the pool.
  • Infants must wear waterproof swim nappies in the pool.
  • People suffering incontinence must wear waterproof nappies, pants or swimwear.
  • Do not swim if unwell or have had symptoms of diarrhoea or vomiting within the past 14 days.
  • Entry is not permitted if you have a contagious illness, infection, or any open cuts or wounds.

 

Entry Fees

  • Entry fees are non-refundable and charged in accordance with the City’s adopted fees and charges.
  • Individuals or groups removed from the venue are not entitled to a refund.

 

Photography and Recording Devices

  • Use of mobile phones, cameras, or recording devices is strictly prohibited in change rooms and toilet areas.
  • Photography within the venue is prohibited without management approval.

 

Programs and Instruction

  • Only City of Coffs Harbour Pool staff may conduct learn to swim classes, squad coaching, private lessons, fitness sessions, or other organised programs unless otherwise approved by management.

 

Venue Closures

Management reserves the right to close part or all of the venue without notice due to safety, operational, maintenance, environmental, or emergency circumstances.
